- The author has attempted to narrate in a short the events of four years’ residence in tent and temple and travel into the far interior among the Tibetans between 1895-1899. Her close contact with the people during four years has enabled her to explore the Tibetans customs, beliefs and social conditions to a maximum possible extent. Moreover, the work does not aim at literary finish, for it has been elaborated under the stress of many public engagements. She may succeed in perpetuating and deepening the widespread interest in the evangelization of this hilly yet icy terrain to a large extent in incorporating in the narrative as many data as possible. The map accompanying the book shows the route of the last journey undertaken in 1898. The subject of the book is very interesting in researchers’ point of view.
