The travelogue of the famous African traveler called Ibn Battuta. Setting out in 1325 with the intention of making a pilgrimage to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, he traveled via North Africa and the far East to reach there. Traveling with caravans he, after the pilgrimage was over, traveled all across Mesopotamia (Iraq) and Iran and entered into India via the North West. In India he was attached a qazi in the Tughlaq court and traveled all over India. From then he was sent to China and on the way he visited the Islands of South East Asia. His travels were extensive and it is estimated that he traveled close to 75000 miles. The book is a wealth of information on the state of the countries that he visited, and make for many an hour of entertaining reading. This book is a reprint of the 1929 edition.
