The concept of an angel-messiah appears in the spiritual traditions of Buddhists, Essenes, and Christians, though each interprets it uniquely. In Buddhism, the Bodhisattva, a being who delays enlightenment to help others, embodies the angelic ideal of compassion and salvation. The Essenes, an ancient Jewish sect, anticipated a messianic figure, often described as a divine mediator or angel who would bring peace and enlightenment.
