Sakoontala Or The Lost Ring

"Sakoontala or The Lost Ring" is a translation and adaptation by Sir Monier Monier-Williams of the famous Sanskrit play "Abhijñānaśākuntalam" by Kalidasa. Published in 1855, it introduced Western readers to Indian literature and drama. The story revolves around the love between King Dushyanta and Shakuntala, the challenges they face, and the eventual reunion through divine intervention.
