Parade's End

This book contain follows Christopher Tietjens, a young man from an upper-class family in Yorkshire, in the years just before, during and immediately after the First World War. Christopher is unhappily married to the calculating, serially unfaithful Sylvia, but cannot divorce her and marry the woman he truly loves. As well as his wife’s betrayals, he must also contend with the devastating consequences of the war, which still linger after he returns from the front. Parade’s End is among Ford Madox Ford’s greatest literary achievements.
