MARGINALITY, EXCLUSION AND SOCIAL JUSTICE

Viewing marginality as a causal explanation of inequality, the social science academia has generated a vast body of literature and discourse on diverse juxtaposed issues such as justice, equality, empowerment, subalternity, multiculturalism and inclusion. This book is a critique as well as a systematic documentation of the experiences and debates of the contested marginality across South Asia in general, and Indian society in particular, across time-space continuum. It reflects the dialectics of social justice and multiple forms of marginalization. It also sets forth how marginality is contemporarily experienced across a variety of communities and groups like scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, peasants, women, physically challenged, minorities and culturally deprived sections and how they cumulate across the life course.
