Gobhilagrhyasutram: With Bhattanarayana's Commentary

The Grihya-sutras form that branch of the Vedic literature which deals with the domestic rites of the Vedic Aryans. They, mainly, give instructions regarding sixteen Samskaras such as marriage, upanayana etc. About seventeen Grihya-sutras have come down to us of which two belong to the Rigveda, one each to the White Yajurveda and Atharvaveda, four to the Samaveda and nine belong to the Black Yajurveda. The Gobhilagrhyasutra belongs to the Samaveda and it is one of the most important Grihya-sutras. It is presented here along with the commentary of Bhattanarayana. This edition is indispensable for every Vedic scholar and for the priests adhering to the Gobhilagrhyasutra.
