The author of "British India in Its Relation to the Decline of Hindooism, and the Progress of Christianity" devoted almost twelve years to missionary work in India. However, he eventually had to leave and return to his homeland. While touring churches in England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, he continued to speak about the Eastern Empire in his sermons and speeches. Throughout all of this, the author remained dedicated to freeing Hindus from priestcraft and superstition.
