Aristotle on fallacies, or, The Sophistici elenchi

Aristotle's Sophistici Elenchi (On Fallacies) examines deceptive arguments that appear logical but are actually invalid. In this work, Aristotle identifies and classifies various types of fallacies, such as those based on ambiguous language, irrelevant premises, or false conclusions. Edward Poste's translation and notes offer clarity, making Aristotle's ideas accessible to modern readers. The text emphasizes critical thinking, urging the reader to scrutinize arguments carefully to avoid being misled by seemingly sound but flawed reasoning.
