Lastly the work ought to be confined entirely to its legitimate purpose the instructing of beginners; not deviating into ingenious metaphysical and etymological discussions however interesting in their proper place nor should it be over-crowded with superfluous paradigms of verbs,&c. so as to swell up the volume to an undue extent.
