A Catechism of Music

A Catechism of Music by Jean Jousse and Louis Charles Elson is a concise instructional guide designed to teach the fundamentals of music in a clear, accessible format. Presented in a question-and-answer style, it covers essential topics such as notation, rhythm, scales, intervals, key signatures, and basic harmony. Jousse's original 19th-century pedagogical approach is enhanced by Elson’s modern commentary and updates, making the work suitable for both beginners and music educators.
