Madras 1922 Hand Book: Indian Science Congress

This small handbook to the city of Madras was released as a souvenir for the delegates participating in the 9th meeting of the Indian Science Congress, at Madras. Compiled in the manner of most handbooks, this edition starts with a short note on the history of the city, and proceeds to describe the notable monuments, the Connemara library, the British Museum; it further offers resumes on general education, medical education, water works and supplies. The last few chapters notice the prehistoric archaeology and geological structure of the presidency, marine zoology, the biological works, etc. This book has eight plates of the former presidents of the Congress, and was first published in 1922.
