Photographs of the exotic locales add interest. The work ends with a glossary of commonlyused Indian words, some of whichbungalow, khaki, and bazaar, for examplehave entered the English language. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible. With one folding map tipped in at back of volume II, one fullpage map, and illustrated with 50 photographic plates. It was first published in 1903.
