Geographical Patterns of Social Well-Being (With Special Reference to Gujarat)

The study aims at understanding the phenomena of social well-being in terms of socio-economic attributes over geographical space. Despite the limitations of indicators of well-being and the generalization at the taluka level, the study brings out the spatial variations in levels of social well-being in Gujarat especially so on the spatial framework of inter-taluka, inter district and inter-regional units.
The spatial patterns of composite levels of social well being as revealed in the study may go a long way in guiding the district administrators, regional and State planners, voluntary social organizations and parliamentarians in achieving the desired spatial patterns of social well-being in Gujarat.
The book will be useful to geographers sociologists, economists, regional and district planners and administrators.
