The book presents Education Index at Micro (Gram Panchayat) Level in Rajasthan, India which is the first work of its kind in the country. The book thrusts on Spatio – Temporal and Gender Appraisal of Education Index during the 1991-2001 periods.
The book contains Six Chapters. The First introductory Chapter is devoted to importance of the research, the methodology adopted and development profile of Rajasthan. Chapter Two and Three focus on Education Index (EDI) for the years 1991 and 2001 respectively. Gender-related Education Index (GEDI) for the years 1991 and 2001 has been presented in Chapters Four and Five respectively. Action Plan is discussed in the Last Chapter.
The report presents the kind of analysis that is at the core of human development status. It examines the facts and interprets a wide variety of data through Geographic Information System. It is believed that the information contained herein would help in the proper planning and future growth of education development and in the removal of regional as well as gender disparities in the state. I hope that this book would prove to be a milestone in the human development agenda for the state as well as for the country.
