Among the few states in the country that have successfully implemented e-governance projects, Gujarat is the pioneer. The smart card-based driving licence, automation of inter-state border transport check-posts, city civic centres in Ahmedabad and other such e-applications in government departments were first of their kind. The book presents six successfully implemented projects in three different departments of Gujarat covering contrastingly different types of functions and services.
