Development of Edcuation in India (Volume 4: Select Documents 1993-94)

Development of Education in India (First volume of the Historical Survey) was published in 1986 and was well received by the educationists and administrators. Encouraged by the great response to the publication, the authors decided to make it a continuing series and update it from time to time. Accordingly, volume 2 under the tiled second historical survey of Educational Development in India covering the period 1985-90 and volume 3 with the tile Third Historical Survey of Educational Development in India devoted to period 1990-92 were brought out. It is of great consolation that all these volumes placed in the hand of discerning educationalist as also reviewers have been well received. In all humility, we assume that the surveys are fulfilling long-felt need.
This fourth volume covering the period 1993-1994, is a sequel to Third Historical Survey of Educational Developments in India: Select Document 1990-1992. A few significant docu-ments relating to the years 1991 and 1992, not already covered, have also been included. The material has been grouped in four parts. Part one presents an overview of educational developments. Part two includes select documents covering diverse facets of education. Part three is devoted to education; statistics. Part four consists of appendices relating to topic not covered earlier.
