Ceylon Currency British Period 1796-1936

The purpose of this monograph is to present in plain language a brief history of the coinage and paper currency of Ceylon since the occupation by the British (1796). This book has separate sections for coins and paper currency; for both these kinds of currency the dates range from 1796 to 1936. There are nine plates in the book that show various specimens of notes and coins; the coins are shown in their actual size. There is a foreword by H.W. Codrington. This book was first published in 1939.
