Both the volumes of the book are travelogue. The authors visited Caunpoor (Kanpur) to the Boorendu pass via Gwalior, Agra, Delhi and Sirhind to explore new avenues in the context of these historical places. They elaborated their narratives through these books in different way. The VolI if belonged to William Lloyd, the VolII was Alexander Gerard?s. It seemed to author requisite, that the loftiest subjects should be treated in language more than usually elevated. What would have argued either want of capacity, or, they should think far more degrading, have rendered them suspected of insensibility. They noted down everything in a diary that appeared to them worthy of observations, as well as feelings which the singular and magnificent aspect of nature excited under all the varied circumstances of storm, serenity and danger during their journey. The books are the product of the extensive journey of these places. The subject of the books is interesting where they explored cultural and historical aspects to make both the volume of the books worth reading.
